SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi President Latif Rashid congratulated Tayyip Erdogan who claimed victory in Turkey’s presidential election on Sunday, affirming Iraq’s eagerness to further develop friendship and cooperation relations with Turkey.
“On behalf of the people of Iraq and on my own behalf, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency, on the occasion of being re-elected as the President of Turkey,” Rashid said in a message to Erdogan, according to the presidential office.
“I wish you all the best and every success in discharging the tasks entrusted to you, wishing the neighboring and friendly people of Turkey further progress and prosperity,” Rashid said.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to affirm Iraq’s consistent eagerness to further develop friendship and cooperation relations to serve both nations’ interests, thus contributing to boosting regional and international peace, security, and stability.”
