Kurdistan Region records 118 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total to 101,661

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region’s coronavirus cases rose by 118 to 101,661 on Sunday, said the health ministry.

In a statement, the Region’s ministry of health said it had registered 32 new infections in Erbil, 29 in Sulaimani, 48 in Duhok and nine in Garmian.

Eight more patients had died from the virus over the last 24 hours, while 502 others had recovered, the ministry added.

The Region’s death toll from COVID-19 rose to 3,340, while recoveries reached 66,903, according to the ministry’s figures.

Earlier on Sunday, Iraqi health ministry said it had recorded 1,027 new coronavirus cases, 17 deaths and 1,964 recoveries.

So far, Iraq has recorded 584,145 coronavirus cases, with 12,697 deaths and 520,969 recoveries, the Iraqi ministry said.
