Deputy Prime Minister meets with Greece’s National Security Advisor, Agriculture Minister

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Thursday held separate meetings with Greece’s National Security Advisor Thanos Dokos and Agriculture Minister Georgios Georgantas. 

“Talabani and the Greek security official exchanged views on the ways to keep stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as well as combating the terrorism groups,” a press release from the Deputy Premier’s press office read.

The Greek National Security Advisor expressed his country’s willingness to support Kurdistan, particularly in the security field, according to the press release.

They also stressed that it’s necessary to have space for Kurdistan-Greece coordination, aiming at further enhancing the bilateral ties.

Kurdistan Deputy Prime Minister Talabani also met with Greece Agriculture Minister Georgios Georgantas on the sidelines of the annual Delphi Economic Forum in Greece.

They discussed the ways to bolster relationships in the field of Agriculture which benefits both sides.

Talabani and the Greece Agri official also laid emphasis on bringing Greece’s Agri experience to develop Kurdistan’s agriculture and irrigation sector, according to the press release.

It further added that Talabani demanded the Greece Agri official to encourage the Greek companies to come and invest in the Kurdistan Region, expressing willingness to offer any facilitation.
