SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish warplanes bombed 10 villages in the Kurdistan Region’s district of Zakho early on Saturday, Esta Media Network reporter said.

Esta’s reporter in Duhok Dilshad Himo said Turkish fighter jets carried out airstrikes in Batifa sub-district for six hours, starting at 12 a.m. on Saturday.

Batifa is located in 33.5 kilometers east of Zakho, near the border between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey.

Turkish warplanes bombed Baransh, Kashane, Khizava, Banke, Mnine, Avlhe, Nzure, Rwise, Shwidne and Kalghur.

No casualties were reported, but the strikes have caused panic among residents of the villages, according to Esta’s reporter.

Ankara intermittently carries out airstrikes and artillery shelling against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on the Kurdistan Region’s border areas with Turkey and Iran.
