PUK President says energy, its revenue must be in public service

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Wednesday met with a senior U.S. delegation led by Terry wolf, the Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to defeat ISIL.

In the meeting, Talabani explained the PUK’s stance regarding all political, economic, and security equations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, a statement released by Talabani’s office said.

He also laid emphasis on persisting dialogue and the positive attempts between the Region and Iraq for passing the obstacles and fundamental resolution of the issues.

“The PUK has complete belief in cooperation and joint work,” Talabani stated, according to the statement.

Talks also focused on reunifying the Peshmerga force and the energy issue, where the PUK President added that “Energy must be in the public service and its revenue must be for the people’s welfare.”

“We have made practical steps for reorganization and unifying the Peshmerga forces and our aim is national solid forces,” he added.
