SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An Indian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ausaf Sayeed on Tuesday met with Qubad Talabani in Erbil, highlighting developing bilateral ties.
“In the meeting attended by Daban Shadala, the deputy charge of Kurdistan Region department of foreign relations, and the Indian consul general in Erbil, reforms and virtualizing the government institutions were discussed,” read a statement from Talabani’s office.
“The Kurdistan Region must take benefit from India to tackle the routine issue and corruption,” Talabani said, according to the statement.
Moreover, the statement stated that Talabani demanded coordination from the Indian delegation in reorganizing and virtualizing the bank system.
In the meantime, the Indian delegation expressed readiness to enhance the ties with the Kurdistan Region, the statement added.
“We are ready to assist the Kurdistan Region government to transit India’s experience to develop the virtual government,” Sayeed told Talabani.
