SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least seven suspects were arrested on theft charges in various places north of Sulaimani’s Sitak suburb, police on Saturday said.
Police received several citizens’ complaints about repeated theft cases from their properties in Sitak. As a result, seven suspects were arrested after following up on the situation, police said in a statement.
Police also said that the suspects were arrested in coordination with the security forces (Asayish), adding several different stolen pieces of stuff have been confiscated while arresting the suspects.
Police did not elaborate on what the suspects had stolen from the Sitak’s properties.
Two vehicles that belonged to the suspects have been seized as well, according to the statement.
Sitak lies in the northeast of the city of Sulaimani. A famous suburb where citizens hold thousands of summerhouses and mansions.
