Female Iraqi citizen has been kidnapped in Libya, says Foreign Ministry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday confirmed an Iraqi citizen has been kidnapped in Libya.

The state news agency (INA) reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a probe to identify the fate of an Iraqi citizen who has been Kidnapped in Libya’s Tripoli.

There were no further details regarding the kidnaped Iraqi except for the INA report which said it was a female Iraqi citizen who has been kidnapped last Wednesday.

Iraqi and Libyan authorities are collaborating to identify the fate of the kidnapped Iraqi, said the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed al-Sahhaf.

“The ministry is following up with the Libyan authorities to find out the fate of the Iraqi girl who was kidnapped in Tripoli,” he said.
