Iraqi President receives KRG deputy prime minister

SULAIMANI (ESTA) —  The Iraqi President, Latif Rashid, on Monday received the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) deputy prime minister, Qubad Talabani, in Baghdad.

In a meeting, the two sides discussed the general situation of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, stressing the necessity to rely on dialogue, read a press release.

They also placed emphasis on supporting the Iraqi government in the implementation of its agenda to enforce security and stability and integrating the views to confront the mutual obstacles before the country, the press release added.

In the meantime, the Iraqi president re-emphasized on relying on “efficient” and “serious” dialogue to address KRG-Baghdad outstanding issues in accordance with the law and constitution, fulfilling the people’s demands.

For his part, the deputy of the KRG prime minister expressed appreciation for the President’s role in unifying the opinions and finding a resolution to the outstanding issues, according to the press release.
