SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Embassy of Iraq in Ukraine on Friday suspended consular work as a result of the military conflict escalation.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) cited the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman as saying that “Consular work at the Iraqi Embassy in Ukraine has been temporarily suspended.”
The decision was made “due to the recent military escalation in Ukraine”, according to the spokesman’s words.
On 24 February Last year, Russia invaded Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014.
The invasion has caused tens of thousands of deaths on both sides and Europe’s largest refugee crisis since World War II.
