U.S. CENTCOM detains IS operatives following air raid – statement

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The U.S. Central Command forces conducted three helicopter raids in eastern Syria over the past 48 hours, which resulted in detaining six Islamic State operatives, according to a statement on Tuesday.

One of those detained was a senior IS Syria province member involved in attacks in Syria, according to the statement.

Moreover, the military in mid-December said that it killed two ISIS officials in eastern Syria following a “successful” helicopter raid, while also  announced the death of ISIS leader Abu Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, in Syria’s Dar’a province who were killed in mid-October by the free Syrian army.
