Deputy Prime Minister separately meets with high-ranking diplomats

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Deputy of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Qubad Talabani separately met with several top diplomats in Erbil on Wednesday, according to the premier’s office.

The Kurdish official received the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Alina L. Romanowski, in the Kurdistan Region capital, Talabani’s office said in a statement.

The pair discussed the political situation of Iraq, Kurdistan, and the region, the office in the statement added.

In the meantime, separately, Talabani received British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson-Richardson.

In a meeting, Talabani and the senior British diplomat shed the light on topics relating to the relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal Government.

“Discussions touched upon permanent agreement with Mohammed Shia al Sudani’s government for the sake of obtaining the Region’s budget share and offering better service to the people,” Talabani said, according to his office.

Moreover, Talabani has welcomed the newly-appointed Turkish Consul General to Erbil, Mevlut Yakut, it added without elaboration.
