SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Russian Ambassador to Iraq Elbrus Kutrashev in a letter on Wednesday extended his condolence to the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) for the death of the Kurdistan Commando Forces Commander, Akam Omar.
“We were saddened by receiving the news of Commander Akam’s death. His death is a great loss to Kurdistan and Iraq,” the letter said which was specifically written for Bafel Talabani, the President of the PUK.
“On behalf of the Russian Embassy in Baghdad and myself, I extend my condolences to the family of Akam Omar, his relatives, friends, and all people of Iraq,” the Ambassador in the letter added.
In the meantime, Russian Consul General to Erbil Maxsm Rubin has also sent out a letter of condolence to President Talabani, expressing grieve sadness over the Commander’s death.
The Kurdistan Commando forces in a statement on Monday announced the death of the Commander, Akam Omar, who died in a hospital in Germany after more than 50 days of fighting for his life since he had been injured by an Islamic State (ISIS) terror group bombing in late October in Garmian’s Zenana area.
