Drones bomb villages in Sulaimani’s Penjwen

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Villages in the Kurdistan Region’s Penjwen district were bombed with unidentified drones on Wednesday night, according to information obtained by Esta reporter.

Esta reporter in the vicinity of the incident said drones attacked targets in Penjwen’s Shwgezan as well as Taimaz villages.

There were no official comments on the attack regarding casualty or damages.

Penjwen district which is located in the east of Sulaimani province has been frequently battered by aerial attacks in recent months.

It wasn’t clear who carried out the Wednesday night attack, but Turkey intermittently targets suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region.

Both targeted villages are situated near Sayran Ban Iraq-Iran border crossing.
