SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Military force of Turkey and Azerbaijan held joint a joint military exercise, Turkey’s state-owned Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.
In accordance with an agreement on military “cooperation” the two countries carried out a joint military exercise, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry was quoted by Anadolu as saying.
The exercise involved the military personnel of different types of troops, combat and special engineer-sapper equipment, as well as military aviation vehicles of the Azerbaijan Army and the Turkish Armed Forces, said Anadolu.
The exercise was held in “Baku city, as well as the territories of Astara, Jabrayil and Imishli regions.
“In the joint exercise, the main focus was on ensuring combat coordination during the interaction of troops, improving management, sharing experience, and increasing the professionalism of the personnel,” the Ministry added.
Azerbaijan regards Turkish military as vital since Ankara had supported Baku in 2020 when it decisively defeated Armenian-backed forces in a conflict over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh enclave.
