SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A senior official on Sunday revealed that the Iraqi Prime Minister will visit Teheran where he is set to discuss several topics with officials there including the bombardments on the Kurdistan Region that recently witnessed escalation.

Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araj said Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al Sudani will visit the Iranian capital Teheran on Tuesday this week.

Sudani is set to discuss several issues there with the Iranian officials including the latest increasing bombardments by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), targeting the Kurdish opposition groups’ bases that are situated in the  Region, according to Araji’s words.

The Revolutionary Guards have attacked Iranian Kurdish militant dissidents’ sites since the death of Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini on Sept. 16 triggered nationwide unrest.

Iran has accused Kurdish opposition militants of fomenting the unrest.

In less than one week IRGC has twice bombed the Kurdish opposition bases with the latest one hitting the Free Kurdistan Party in Kirkuk’s Prde sub-district on Tuesday.

Despite the “strong” condemnations from the foreign missions and local authorities, IRGC’s Tuesday attack marked the fourth in the last two months with kept renewing threats to eradicate the Kurdish opposition groups there by using force.

It also has targeted the same sites in Erbil, Koya, and Sulaimani with the bloodiest one dating back to September when IRCG struck the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDKI) headquarters in Koya, killing 12 people and leaving above 50 injured with missiles and kamikaze drones.

Speaking about Erbil-Baghdad’s outstanding issues, Araji said that “there is a political will to resolve all of the issues.”
