Iranian missiles, drones target Kurdish dissident sites

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) once again struck Kurdish dissidents’ bases across the Kurdistan Region on Monday.

Iranian bomb-laden drones and missiles targeted d the headquarters of “dissident groups” in the Kurdistan Region in the early hours of Monday, the semi-official Fars news agency confirmed the details.

Kurdish opposition bases outside of Erbil and Sulaimani as well as inside Koya were subjected to the attack.

Esta Media Network reporter said sirens sounded from the U.S. consulate general in Erbil following Iran’s bombing. 

The Revolutionary Guards have attacked Iranian Kurdish militant opposition bases in the Kurdistan Region since the death of Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini on Sept. 16 triggered nationwide unrest.

Iran has accused Kurdish opposition militants of fomenting the unrest and threatened strikes against armed Iranian Kurdish dissidents.

The IRGC struck military bases in the Kurdistan dish Region, aiming to destroy sites that were partly destroyed in previous attacks, Fars added.

The U.S. Central Command condemned the attack in a statement on Monday.
