KRG refutes Iranian claims that “opposition” armed with weapons from Kurdistan Region

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Saturday refuted the reports by the state-affiliated Iranian media, saying that the Iranian “opposition” arming itself with weapons smuggled from the Kurdistan Region.

Recently, Iran’s state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency “quoted” Former US national security adviser John Bolton, saying that “he had seen images of Kurdish forces trained and armed in Iraq [Kurdistan Region].”

The KRG in a statement responded to the claims by the Iranian media that weapons have been smuggled to Iran from the Region.

“We reject that baseless news that has been repeatedly made,” it said.

It also said that the KRG will never allow the security of neighboring countries to be disrupted through the Kurdistan Region. “Those types of news are completely untrue,” it added.
