Babylon movement Secretary-General condoles for martyring, injuring Members of Commando Forces

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Secretary-General of the Iraqi Babylon movement Rayan al-Kldani on Sunday has sent out a condolences message to the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) over the explosion that some time ago targeted the Kurdistan Commando Forces. 

A while back, Commander Convoy of the Kurdistan Commando forces struck an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sulaimani’s Garmian administration, in the midst of an anti-ISIS operation during the morning hours of Wednesday in the administration’s Qum Palik village.

The explosion resulted in martyring officer of the Commando Forces Zuher Mohammed and injuring four others including the Commander, Akam Omar.

The Commando forces in an official statement following the incident blamed the terrorists for the bombing.

In the message, Kldani has expressed his sympathy for Officer Mohammed martyr, sending his condolences to the PUK President Bafel Talabani and the martyr’s family.

“We pray for a speedy recovery for Commander Omar and his fellows who were injured during conducting their official duty,” Kldani wrote.

Moreover, Kldiani called for the unifying of the attempts, making them intensified with additional coordination to combat terror and establish security as well as tranquility across the country.

Kurdistan Commando Forces is a special force affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), it played a major role during the Islamic State war in Iraq in 2014-2017 to defeat the terrorists, and received training including weapons from the U.S.-led collation forces, particularly France and Germany.

“PUK’s commanders are the son of the days of difficulty, they were always in the frontlines of the battles, protecting the Kurdistan Region with their blood”. “PUK proud of their martyring for Kurdistan not fleeing or escaping the dangers,” President Talabani on Sunday said.
