Baghdad: PUK President, Head of al-Fatah alliance meet

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Bafel Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met Tuesday with Hadi al-Amiri, the Head of the Iraqi al-Fatah alliance in Baghdad.

A press release said that Talabani and Amiri met during which dismounting the tensions and overcoming the obstacles were discussed.

It was attended by the Secretary-General of the Babylon Movement, Rayan al-Kldani as well.

The meeting further discussed a “new” stage of Iraq’s political process, stressing persisting inter-parties dialogue for forming a new government.

“Real partnership and comprise are concrete factors to escape in this unwanted situation,” President Talabani said, according to his office.

PUK President also referred that PUK is persisting in its efforts to resolve the issues. It’s “responsible” for protecting the right of the Kurdish people and all Iraqi nations.

“Our aim is clear,” President Talabani said. “We want the new government to be the fulfiller of the constitutional right of the Kurdish people,” he added.

There is a real will to pass the long-standing political impasses of Iraq, according to Talabani’s words.

“We are optimistic that there is a real will to pass the situation and mark the end of the political deadlock,” Talabani quoted.
