SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A senior security source said, at least three Katyusha rockets landed inside Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone on Wednesday.

The state news agency INA cited a security source as saying that three Katyusha rockets landed inside Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone at 1530 local time.

INA did not have details on whether it caused casualties or not but the rockets fell in the parliament building vicinity which is located in the high-security zone. But the Iraqi Security Media cell has confirmed that seven military personnel have been injured.

The incident coincided with the first parliament session after the deadly clashes in Baghdad back in late August.

Today’s parliament session renewed confidence in parliament speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi after he submitted his resignation to the chamber on Monday.
