SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A moderately strong earthquake hit southern Turkey on Thursday morning, according to Turkish disaster and emergency management presidency (AFAD).
AFAD said the 5-magnitude quake struck Kurtalan district in Siirt province, at a depth of 20 kilometers, Anadolu Agency reported.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 22 kilometers west of Siirt, eastern Turkey.
Casualties remained unclear.
