SULAIMANI (ESTA) — President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Jalal Talabani in Baghdad received the General Secretary of the Babylon movement on Wednesday.
President Talabani who is in the Iraqi capital for a visit met General Secretary of Babylon movement Rayan al-Kldani, they discussed recent bloody clashes in Baghdad and ways to avoid disunity among the Iraqi people.
In the meeting the latest political developments and Iraq’s recent situation were discussed, it stressed the acceleration of the steps and resolving the issues, and both sides agreed that dialogue and understanding are the sole options to overcome the obstacles and prevent reoccurring similar incidents that took place in Baghdad and several Iraqi provinces, according to a statement released by Talabani’s media office.
During the talks, President Talabani emphasized the continuation of the wise peaceful policy of the departed leader, President Mam Jalal.
“Our efforts will continue to deepen the spirit of harmony and brotherhood,” and “We reject all forms of dissension as well as disunity,” President Talabani said.
“We make steps expectantly to build a brighter future,” Talabani added.
