“It’s time to break impasse” Deputy Premier Qubad Talabani tells UNAMI’s chief

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The deputy of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister met the U.N. special envoy to Iraq on Monday in Erbil, discussing a national dialogue, and sacrifice for the greater good, a statement said.

Deputy Premier Qubad Talabani met United Nations special envoy Jeanine Hennis-plasschaert in Erbil, discussing a national dialogue, sacrifice for the greater good, a unified vision, and a commitment to do the best for the people of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, according to Talabani’s media office.

As Iraq’s government formation deadlock continues Talabani amid the meeting told Plasschaert, “It’s time to break the impasse” the office in a statement said.

This is not the first time that the U.N. envoy met with the Kurdish or Iraqi officials and leaders. The UNAMI’s chief visits have enlarged since Iraq’s political deadlock hit its ten-month impasses over the government formation after the October election due to parties’ failure to reach an agreement to vote to for the new cabinet, threatening the country sliding into another sectarian conflict.
