SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A shell bomb was landed near the Turkish military base in Duhok’s province Bamarni on Thursday with no casualties, according to Esta reporter.
“It was 12:00 p.m. local time when a shell bomb landed near Bamarni’s military base that hosts Turkish troops,” the reporter said.
“However it did not cause any casualties but set fire to the bushes and woods around the area which is also near to a residential complex,” he said.
Targeting the Turkish bases stationed in Iraq has increased recently by the Shia militia groups.
The attack’s objectives are retaliation for a deadly bombing carried out by Turkey, targeting a touristic site in Duhok’s Zakho killing and injuring 34 Arab civilians.
Earlier on Wednesday’s pre-dawn, The Turkish general consulate in Mosul came under rocket attack by a Shia militia group that called themselves Saraya al-Ababil.
Ababil militia group later said it was an act of vengeance for Turkey’s deadly bombing.
