Turkish embassy in Baghdad increases visa application fee

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish Embassy in Baghdad increased the visa fee application for Iraqi citizens who intends to visit Turkey, according to an announcement issued on Thursday.

“Turkey Visa service fee will be 60 USD,” it said.

Previously, Turkey used to grant its entry visa for 50 USD, before the issuance of the announcement.

Turkey is always overwhelming with Iraqi travellers during holidays, particularly in summers there is a lot of demand to enter the country and apply for the Turkish visa application.

Many Iraqi citizens enter Turkey either from the Ibrahim Khalil border point by land or through the airports. This resulted in flourishing Turkish tourism industry, enjoying a lot of revenue from it.

Throughout 2019, Turkey generated around 41.42  billion USD in the tourism sector alone. This corresponds to 5.4 percent of its gross domestic product.
