SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s federal court decision is fixed and no one is allowed to refuse it, said President of the Supreme Judicial Council Zidan Faiq on Thursday.
Speaking in an interview with Assbah Newspaper Faiq said, Iraq’s Federal court is a part of the country’s judiciary system. It functions independently, and free from government intervention. Even some decisions have been made in contrast to the government’s beliefs.
“For that reason, the decision did not settle in the interest of Iraq’s oil Ministry, however this not an indication of coordination between government and court, but the government was plaintiff,” he said.
Faiq further stated in regard to abiding the Federal court decision, saying “before everything abiding is a constitutional and lawful duty, therefore no parties allowed to refuse it because it marks the violation of the constitution”.
