SULAIMANI (ESTA) — War is the worst thing but worse than that is surrender, said the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, on Saturday.

“In the course of history we have been always oppressed and even we have done it to ourselves as well,” Barzani said during the ceremony exhibiting numerous books regarding “Barzani Movement” in Erbil.

Barzani also mentioned the outstanding issue between the Kurdistan Region government and the Federal government and said, we must solve the issues through compromise, according to his words.

“If there is any group who thinks that they can get a conclusion through forcible use of weapon and intimidation, many stronger people have tested themselves in that way and they got nothing for a hundred years, but only more and more destruction and it would not be better” Barzani added.

Barzani further said that I wished we could know what we used to know currently but before 2003, so far the notion of intolerance and underestimating the Kurds and their rights are dominant.

Barzani’s remarks are simultaneous with Iraq’s political stalemate and Turkey’s attack on the Kurdistan Region, overall the country is witnessing its worst situation specifically after parliament’s failure to form a new government even though eight months passed since the general elections.
