SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Israel destroyed several Iranian military backup convoys in Iraq that were prepared to be received by the Hezbollah party in Lebanon, ‘Ashraq al-Awsat’ reported on Tuesday.
Asharq al-Awsat cited an Israeli informed source as saying that Iran has sent military backups to Lebanese ‘Hezbollah’ through Iraq’s territory, and Israel was able to destroy all of them.
Israel has carried out numerous strikes in Iraq against truck convoys smuggling Iranian weapons to the Hezbollah party in Lebanon, according to Asharq al-Awsat.
Earlier on Friday Syria halted flights to and from Damascus International Airport, a few hours after Israeli air strikes hit south of the capital.
Israel has intensified its efforts to target Hezbollah’s arms depot in Syria, and now it is extended to Iraq as well.
For several years, Israel has been attacking what it has described as Iranian-linked targets in Syria, where Tehran-backed forces, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, have deployed to help President Bashar al-Assad.
