Bafel Jalal Talabani visits Baghdad to meet with Iraqi political parties

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Bafel Jalal Talabani arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday to Conduct several meetings with Iraqi political parties, Esta Media Network has learned.   

According to information Esta Media Network has obtained, Bafel Jalal Talabani met with the head of the state of law coalition Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad, however, the content of the meeting has not been revealed yet.

PUK president’s visit to Baghdad aims to discuss the latest political development with the Iraqi parties and the formation of the new Iraqi government.

Iraqi political parties are continuing to hold meetings since the last parliamentary election of the country that was done on October 2021.

Iraq has entered a political deadlock due to parties’ failure to reach an agreement to elect a president and a prime minister in the parliament.

Currently, the country is experiencing the longest political stalemate since the general elections, eight-month after, the new Iraqi government is not formed yet due to disputes between the political parties.
