KDP removes statement following Turkey’s operation

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) removed a statement it published on its media outlet with the beginning of a Turkish cross-border operation in the Kurdistan Region.

The KDP released a statement on March 29 rejecting claims by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) that Turkey and the KDP had agreed to launch a joint operation against the PKK on April 15.

“April 15 is not far and we will wait. Your lies, dishonesty and rioting will become clear to the Kurdistan Region’s people,” the KDP’s statement said.

Following the beginning of Turkey’s airstrikes on April 15, the KDP has removed the statement on its media outlet.
