Rockets fall near Kar Group refinery in Erbil: reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Several rockets fell near a refinery owned by Kar Group in Erbil province on Wednesday, Esta Media Network reporter said.

The reporter said two of the rockets landed inside the refinery and two others fell outside.

The refinery is located in Kawrgosk in Khabat district in Erbil province.

The Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Service said the attack was carried out by three rockets and that they were fired from Khazir frontline in Nineveh province.

It further said the attack caused no casualties.

The refinery is owned by Kar Group CEO Baz Karim Barzanji and whose home was hit by Iranian ballistic missiles last month.

In March, Iran attacked Erbil with a dozen ballistic missiles in an unprecedented assault on the Kurdistan Region’s capital that appeared to target the United States and its allies.
