SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s West Qurna 2 oilfield will resume operations on Tuesday, Reuters cited two oil sources as saying on Monday.

The sources told Reuters that production at the oilfield would increase gradually to reach its normal output of 400,000 barrels per day.

The oilfield, operated by Russia’s Lukoil, was shut down temporarily for maintenance last month.

On Friday, operations resumed at the Nasiriyah oilfield in southern Iraq after a seven-day outage, according to Iraqi oil sources.

The field usually produces around 80,000 barrels per day of crude, according to the operator, Dhi Qar Oil Company.

Iraq produced 4.25 million bpd of crude in January, down by 26,000 bpd from the previous month, according to an average of six secondary sources used by the OPEC secretariat.
