SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A military delegation arrived in Sinjar on Monday, according to the Iraqi official news agency (INA).

The delegation was led by Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Lieutenant-General Abdulamir al-Shammari, INA reported.

“The delegation will be briefed on the security situation in the district and will discuss issues of the displaced people and facilitating obstacles to peaceful coexistence,” INA quoted the Joint Operations Command as saying.

The delegation met with the governor of Nineveh, the U.N. representative in Iraq and officials from the ministry of migration and displacement as well as other government’s officials.

Several Iraqi delegations have visited Sinjar district in the past months to oversee the security situation there.
