Turkey bombs Sinjar, refugee camp in Makhmour

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkey bombed Sinjar town and a refugee camp in Makhmour, southwest of Erbil, on Tuesday, a source and the Kurdistan Region’s counter-terrorism service said.

“Warplanes are still flying over the camp,” the source told Esta Media Network.

Esta Media Network reporter said the warplanes bombed the foothills of Qarachogh mountain near the camp.

Meanwhile, the Region’s counter-terrorism service said Turkish fighter jets had bombed six positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Qarachogh mountain.

Two more PKK positions were also bombed by Turkey’s warplanes in Sinjar mountains and Baray area on the border with Syria, it added.

“The strikes caused casualties and damages,” it said in a post to its official page.
