SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A six-year-old girl died after a fire broke out in a camp in Shekhan district in southeast of Duhok on Sunday, a local official said.

Director of Duhok civil defense Bewar Abdulaziz said a tent in the Esyan displacement camp caught fire on Sunday.

“The fire burned a child and wounded three members of the same family,” Abdulaziz told Esta Media Network.

“The cause of the fire remains unclear,” he said.

The camp is home to thousands of Yazidis, who survived the persecutions of Islamic State. It was established in 2014 following ISIS attack on the Yazidis in Sinjar.
