Iraqi foreign minister infected with COVID-19 – spokesman

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi foreign minister Fuad Hussein has been infected with coronavirus, the ministry’s spokesman said on Sunday.

“His condition is stable and is recovering. He will resume his activities soon,” ministry spokesman Ahmed Sahaf said.

Earlier on Sunday, the ministry of health said it had recorded 5,582 new cases of COVID-19, including 15 deaths, in the past 24 hours.

So far, the country has registered 2,203,365 coronavirus infections, with 24,376 deaths, according to the ministry’s figures.
