Gunmen open fire at house of counter-terrorism forces officer in Kirkuk

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A group of gunmen opened fire at the house of an officer of the Kurdish counter-terrorism forces in Kirkuk late on Friday, police said.

The directorate of police in Kirkuk said a number of unknown gunmen in a vehicle with no plates opened fire at the house of colonel Dler Ghazi in the city at 11:19 p.m. local time.

Ghazi is an officer in the counter-terrorism forces affiliated to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), police said in a statement.

The colonel works in Sulaimani, it added.

“There were casualties other than material damages,” police said.
