SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish artillery on Saturday shelled areas in Kobani and its surrounding villages in northern Syria, a Syrian watchdog said.
Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said rockets fell in areas in Kobani and the villages of Kubarlk, Jarn, Kiltab and Qarmouhg in east of the city.
“The source of the bombardment came from the Turkish forces located inside Turkish territory at the border with Ayn al-Arab,” SOHR reported, using the Arabic name for Kobani.
There was no immediate comment from the Turkish government.
Meanwhile, Hawar news agency (ANHA) said three explosions were heard in Kobani city on Saturday.
Two people were wounded in the explosions, according ANHA.
