SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq registered 3,568 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, raising the total number to 493,139, said the health ministry.
In a statement, the Iraqi ministry of health said it had recorded 1,170 new infections in Baghdad, 406 in Duhok, 342 in Erbil, 300 in Nineveh, 249 in Sulaimani, 212 in Kirkuk, 158 in Saladin, 147 in Diyala and 127 in Basra.
The ministry further said 96 new cases were recorded in Wasit, 72 in Babil, 64 in Maysan, 61 in Najaf, 51 in Anbar, 46 in Diwaniyah, 29 in Muthanna, 21 in Karbala and 17 in Dhi Qar.
The Iraqi ministry added that 69 more patients had died from the virus over the past 24 hours, while 3,060 others recovered.
Iraq’s death toll from the novel coronavirus rose to 11,244, while recoveries reached 423,266, according to the ministry’s figures.
