SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi government plans to increase oil exports to 3.4 million barrels per day (bpd) in the first quarter of 2022, Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar said on Thursday.

The minister added that the figure did not include crude sales from the Kurdistan region.

Iraq’s oil exports for October rose to 3.12 million barrels per day from 3.081 million bps in the previous month, according to Iraqi oil ministry’s monthly figures.

For Iraq, OPEC’s second-largest producer, oil revenue represents at least 95% of its income. It has been hit by the collapse in demand and oil prices last year, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
