SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Peshmerga forces thwarted an Islamic State (ISIS) attack near Prde in south of Erbil late on Wednesday, the ministry of Peshmerga said.

In a statement, the ministry said ISIS militants carried out an attack on Peshmerga forces on Prde-Dibis frontline at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Our brave Peshmerga responded to the militants immediately and they run away,” the ministry added, stating that there were no casualties.

The Peshmerga ministry further said the militants continued to use the security gap between the Iraqi and Kurdish forces to attack the Peshmerga.

It was the second attack against the Kurdish forces in Prde this week. On Sunday, two members of the Peshmerga forces were killed in another attack in the area.
